Tutorial & Rules
Your Virtual Voyage has commenced!
Your Virtual Traveller (Verne) starts at the place where you first log on to the Verne app. From there you can travel anywhere you like, hopping on and off Balloons that are situated on the exact physical location of the user. So, besides a Virtual Traveller, you are a Balloonist, earning credits by taking with you other Verne’s as you travel from work, going on holidays, etcetera.
Balloonists need to check-in at their destination. Every time they do so, they
can take a picture of their surroundings, recognizable and verifiable for
other users. This Voyage Photo is send to the Verne(s) in the balloon,
including the avatar of both Balloonist and Verne. Approved photos could be
included in your Travel Album. Verne and Balloonist can become friends and
have a chat. Vernes can rate their Balloonist.
As a Verne you can collect Achievements, all based on the great stories of Jules Verne. There are achievements in different levels of difficulty and not all achievements require approved Voyage Photo’s.
You can earn credits:
-
Every time you check in at a new destination (where you travel to physically) with one or more Vernes in your balloon. You have to set a price per kilometer before you leave, the estimated time of departure (ETD) and your destination. Vernes hop on at their own risk: they don’t know if and when they will arrive at the destination. That’s why they can cancel the trip at any time before the Balloonist has checked-in again, without paying any credits. Insurance can be bought in case a Verne arrives at another location than agreed. They will get a refund or return to the location of departure.
-
By approving/disapproving Voyage Photos of others. You earn credits no matter your judgment of the picture.
Verne's Rules
- Helping each other is permitted, but not by creating several accounts.
- Inappropriate photo’s, including nudity, promoting racism or harming against a group or individual and/or infringing copyright or international/local laws, are actively being deleted from the application and could lead to blocking of accounts. Please do not add pictures of people who refuse to be on your picture.
- It is not possible for a Balloonist to travel with a speed of higher than 1.000 km per hour. Space travelers cannot earn credits, sorry!
- As a balloonist, you can go wherever you want, no matter what you promised to your passengers, but keep in mind: they will rate you!
- Of course we know you can change the location on your phone manually. But since Verne is a game and you can’t win any prizes, why should you? Besides, only Vernes with a lot of approved pictures will gain status!
- We appreciate your privacy, so we will not share your location or personal data except for the things you publish yourself. It’s always possible to be invisible as a Balloonist, but of course you will not earn any credits while being invisible.
